As a previous Dell SPD Partner, I remember my first face-to-face meeting with a Dell Manager during CMP XChange in February 2006. I asked the Dell Manager a direct question, "If my client calls Dell directly after we have given them a quote for the Dell line, while Dell try to take the client directly and away from me?" His reply was "Yes, we want to win the deal so we will under-cut your price to guarantee that we win the deal."
Dell now is trying to win the Channel over by saying that they are investing tons of money into the Channel but yet they still seem to have the same old practice going on.
Dell decides to tell me that I was never a SPD partner. However, I provide them with our number and their story changed dramatically. I met with Executives from Dell in August 2007 in Orlando during the XChange '07 event. I am told that we would have follow-up calls and emails to us after the event was over with. Well, it turns out that those emails or calls haven't happened and it is starting to remind me of Intel (a different story and worth reading).
Since the underhand taking of three accounts from me by Dell, they will NEVER earn my trust, no matter how much they spend in the Channel. The "Untruthful Ugly D" will never change. |
